In today’s – I must say pretty cool- post, I welcome Beau North and Brooke West with their new book, The Many Lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Hi, Mira, and thanks for being a part of our blog tour! We are thrilled to share this experience with you and your readers. Brooke’s brother Ja is a talented visual artist, working mostly on paper with pencil and ink. When Ja read The Many Lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy, he was struck by the despair and stark imagery in the prologue. As we discussed the story with him, we were hit with an inspiration—let’s illustrate the prologue!
The dark tone of the prologue fit perfectly with Ja’s style and artistic themes. We asked, he agreed, and we gave him free reign to interpret the prologue and bring it to life. We think Ja captured this part of the story perfectly, adopting a modern interpretation, and staying true to his unique vision. The illustration is a lovely addition to the collaborative effort that is TMLoFD.
Without further ado, please enjoy Ja West’s visual interpretation of the prologue of The Many Lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy!
We hope you are as delighted with the result of Ja’s efforts as we are. If you and your readers would like to see more of Ja’s work, they can find him at http://pisceswest-art.com/ and can connect with him on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/creepyscape/?fref=ts. What great art! Love the cat-rock giving side-eye. THAT cat knows what’s going on I bet; that’s a very aware cat.
Lovely!
